Wendy M. Voorsanger was born and raised on the American River in Sacramento. A fanatical enthusiasm for California history led her on a research quest into women's contributions building the West, and more specifically, women and sexuality on the frontier of the California gold strike days. The result is—SHE IS CALIFORNIA, and a not-yet published historical novel entitled, Prospects of a Woman.

Wendy has worked as a disc jockey, a lifeguard, and a ski instructor. She began her writing career in the Silicon Valley chronicling technology trends and innovations for newspapers magazines, and high-tech companies. Some of her publications include the San Francisco Chronicle, the Marin Independent Journal, Hunger Mountain, Numero Cinq, and Outdoor Magazine, among others. See: www.wendyvoorsanger.net.
